Rotator cuff problems

Rotator cuff is a group of muscles that are located in the shoulder and help to stabilize the joint. Symptoms include pain and weakness in one or more of the four muscles and tendons which support your shoulder blade. It can cause an issue if you are a professional athlete, use heavy tools daily, or perform many overhead tasks like lifting boxes, painting, or washing windows.

Other causes of rotator cuff problems include:

  • trauma to the shoulder,
  • overuse due to repetitive activities,
  • age-related changes in the shoulder joint that decrease stability, such as osteoarthritis
  • degenerative joint disease

Mild sprain

It is a stretch or tear of a ligament with minimal damage to muscle tissue and little instability in the joint. It is primarily caused by a fall or twisting the ankle.

Muscle spasm

Painful muscle contractions are usually associated with lifting heavy objects, driving long distances, coughing, or sneezing, which causes compression on certain nerves near the spine.

Muscle strains and tears

Muscle strain is a tear or stretch of muscle fibers in one area, while a muscle tear occurs when there is enough force to break some muscle tissue which may cause the supporting ligaments and muscles to become injured as well.

Lateral/medial epicondylitis

Inflammation caused by repetitive movements of the hand and wrist. It happens when the tendons that extend from the elbow to the hand become inflamed.

It is a chronic condition characterized by widespread pain and discomfort on both sides of the body, accompanied by fatigue, trouble sleeping, depression, anxiety, and irritable bowel syndrome.

Golfers/tennis elbow

An inflammation around one of the tendons that attach the forearm muscles to a bone on the top (medial) edge of your wrist. It happens when repeated movements of the forearm muscles and tendons cause this tendon to become inflamed.

Frozen shoulder

Frozen Shoulder is a common, painful condition that causes limited movements of your arm and hand.

Piriformis syndrome

Inflammation that causes a tingling sensation and pain in the buttock, thigh, or lower back that radiates to one side of the leg is caused by irritation on nerve roots from piriformis.

Iliotibial band syndrome (ITBS) gets its name from a long tendon that starts at the hip joint and runs down to below the knee on one side of the body. It is a condition in which the iliotibial band becomes irritated and inflamed, causing pain in the knee, hip, or outer part of the thigh.

Post-Surgical Back Pain

It is a discomfort that can occur after a back surgery resulting from the injury, nerves being manipulated during surgery or swelling of tissues around the incision.
